Choosing between seamless and segmented gutters

Building materials are our speciality and it has remained this way for over thirty years. Ever since the company was founded, we have done what we can to ensure that each customer is satisfied with their purchase. Providing a wide assortment of flashings and gutters, among other things, we are the people to call if you find yourself in need of quality gear.

With home repair, integrating a fresh gutter is common practice. In most instances, homeowners tend to go for the aluminium type due to the rust resistant potential; something old-style galvanised guttering lacks. Gutters come in a multitude of colours as well, with brown and white being the two most frequent. However, the option to paint them does exist if the current shade isn’t to your liking.

During the process of choosing a new design, it normally comes down to two candidates. The first is seamless, which is formed via machinery at the property. The installation of these gutters is often left to the experts. Option number two is the more classical pre-manufactured segments that are bought and assembled. Professional installation is a good idea here too, but it is possible to do it yourself.

The advantage to using seamless gutters is that they don’t include that many joints. This means that there is less room available for leaks to develop. Something to note here is that the aluminium they’re made of must be light enough that it can pass through the forming mechanism with little to no fuss. With the segmented gutters, you need to make the connections properly or the joints will end up leaking.
